Biography:
Jamie C. Krapf is of counsel with the firm. She concentrates her practice on a wide range of issues affecting national and regional banking institutions, lien-holders, creditors and public and private corporations.
Ms. Krapf's responsibilities include the supervision of collection efforts on behalf of various New York City real estate tax lien trusts, including the prosecution of all tax lien litigation and foreclosures actions. Additionally, Ms. Krapf's diverse practice includes an emphasis on general commercial, creditors' rights and foreclosure litigation including representing national and regional lenders in the defense of predatory lending and mortgage fraud claims on the federal and state level. She also represents corporate or individual parties involved in contract, construction and limited liability company disputes.
Ms. Krapf has served as a participant in the Kings County Foreclosure Committee regarding foreclosure procedures and documentation in Kings County, New York.

- Successful defense of several multi-million dollar actions against national leading institutions alleging mortgage fraud and predatory lending.
- Successful resolution of various condemnation claims for New York City tax lien servicer.
- Member of appellate team which obtained unanimous decision enabling superior lien holders to foreclose its lien and affirming that a purchaser of distressed subordinate debts does not retain the super powers of the FDIC after acquiring the debt.
- In a case of first impression, successfully defending a property owner's right to enjoin a construction contractor's efforts to improperly underpin its real estate without proper permission, resulting in a unanimous appellate court ruling later relied upon by other courts.
- In an Article 78 proceeding to review an agency's final determination permitting a landlord to refuse to renew rent stabilized tenants' leases on the basis that the landlord had a good faith intention to demolish the building, successfully obtained an appellate court stay of further agency proceeding after the agency's motion to remit the matter for further agency proceedings was granted by the trial court.
